Caring for your MERI-TAUI leather piece
Natural leather can develop a distinctive character with use. A little regular care helps protect its surface, stitching and hardware.
Everyday care
- Wipe away dust with a clean, soft, dry cloth. For light marks, use a barely damp cloth, then allow the item to air-dry naturally.
- Keep leather away from prolonged direct sunlight, excess moisture, perfumes, alcohol, strong cleaning chemicals and heat sources.
- Do not machine-wash, soak or tumble-dry your piece.
- Avoid overfilling bags or putting excessive weight on straps, closures and seams.
- If you use a leather conditioner, make sure it suits the leather finish and test it on a concealed area first. For stubborn stains, consult a leather-care specialist.
Storage
Empty and gently reshape your bag before storing it in a cool, dry, ventilated place. Use clean, acid-free paper to support its shape if needed; do not store damp leather in sealed plastic. Keep straps loosely arranged rather than tightly folded.
Stitching, engravings and hardware
Use a soft, dry cloth to dust engraved areas. Do not scrape the decoration or use abrasive products on metal fittings. If you notice a loose stitch, damaged fastening or another functional issue, stop using the affected part and contact us.
Colour and natural variations
Appearance may vary slightly between individual handcrafted pieces. Colour can also look different under different lighting and screens. Care methods should suit the specific finish of your item.
